Deirdra Watson has provided public relations services through Acuity Options since 2005 where her organizational and design skills have contributed to large scale strategies, campaigns, training programs and presentations.
She is also Managing Director of Concept Solutions Inc., a conference and event management firm offering full servicing including branding and public relations, website and registration, planning and logistics, facilitation and evaluation. Clients generally contract Concept Solutions to showcase their conferences and events on a more permanent basis without having to employ full-time staff or burden existing staff. To date, Deirdra has produced award winning large to medium-sized conferences, events and programs for business in the hi-tech sector as well as, municipal governments and nonprofits.
In addition to her engagement on a variety of projects with Acuity Options e.g. Niagara Regional Police, Halton Region, City of Guelph, Heart Niagara, etc., Deirdra has provided event skills to VIZIYA Corp, Oracle, the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Atotech Canada Ltd, the Createch Group (a Bell Canada company), The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada, Shad International and GE Capital Technology Management Services.
Deirdra has expanded Concept Solutions mandate by offering her own consumer and business trade shows and conferences with strategic partners in order to meet the demand for lifestyle, professional and career development information from women and entrepreneurs.
Deirdra is committed to her community has been involved as a board member with Rotary International (Ancaster A.M.), OPACC – Ontario Parents Advocating for Children with Cancer and the Southern Ontario Chamber Music Institute. She has also lent her design and branding skills on a pro bono basis to many nonprofits, resulting in new grant proposals, websites and other marketing vehicles and campaigns that have been pivotal to their sustainability.
Deirdra has been member of Mississauga Technology Association and CPRS Hamilton, where she served as Chair for Pinnacles and for Communications and, on the Mentorship Committee. She currently is a member of the Professional Convention Management Association and is working toward her Certified Meeting Planner designation.
